GODBLESS
GodBless was born in the US, but considers the UK his second home. As his grandparents were among the first from the Caribbean island of Grenada to settle in England during the early 1960s. With a father in the US Airforce he moved around a lot during his childhood but particularly remembers his grandfather the Mighty Sir Roger, a well- respected carnival superstar in Grenada as a strong inspiration in his life. Growing up listening to Rakim, Wu-Tang Clan, Brand Nubians, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, GodBless began to eat, breath, and sleep Hip Hop and soon connected with what he sees as his God given gift to write, perform and produce music. The single Dreamer was inspired by seeing the vision he had as a boy come to fruition at a time when London was being bombed during the summer of 2005 and is taken from the album For You And Yours due out later this year. The album is produced by Godbless and his brother eVerlution and they plan to release it on their own independent record label Soul Cipher. The brothers chose to go the independent route rather than look for a major as they wanted maximum control over their output, and through the music aim to project a positive message that lyrically deals with the more social conscious issues within the Hip-Hop genre.
eVerloution/Dj Ape Nutz
eVerloution/DJ Ape Nutz, was born in Savannah, Georgia, but was replanted in Columbia, South Carolina. Before establishing roots in SC, eVerloution had the privilege of existing in England, Germany and New Jersey. While in Germany and England eVerloution had the opportunity of hearing samples from many Afro and World Beat Artists. This could be the reason why eVerloution utilize congas, bongos, shakers and yes even the Didgeridoo from the down-under Techno, Jungle, Grimm and Trace were all forms of music that eVerloution was exposed to while in Europe. By having a mother who was Grenadian and father who was American, this allowed eVerloution to identify with both Grenadian and American music attributes. After leaving Europe and arriving to New Jersey, eVerloution found himself with an assortment of mental instruments and percussions. Older brother GodBless was already recording and performing locally. This fueled eVerloution to identify himself with the Hip Hop scene. By living in New Jersey eVerloution was introduced to a variety of Hip Hop artists and styles of musical self expression. eVerloution was influenced by EPMDs Crossover from Album Business Never Personal. eVerloution considers this track as The Fork In The Road for Hip Hop. Crossover basically stated THAT HIP HOP IS CULTURE NOT FAD!! Featuring on GodBless's early hit Album Funk On Your Disks. This was the spark that lit eVerloutions inner ear for arranging and producing tracks. Due to military obligation by eVerloutions father. eVerloution was forced to relocated to Columbia, South Carolina. eVerloution uses his lifes journey as a guide in creating instrumentals. eVerloution has now joined forces with brother GodBless to create Soul Cipher Records. By Harnessing the pure vocal talents of GodBless and the whimsical ear tingling beats of eVerloution, Soul Cipher Transcends all..
